My name is Jonathan Vu. Eldest of two children. Born in San Francisco. Raised in the neighboring city of Daly City.
Growing up I wanted to be: an older brother, a fireman, taller, a policeman, not a doctor, a dentist, a teacher, a veterinarian, a scientist, kidnapped (I was a really sore loser this one time when I lost at a game of Double Dare with my cousins), and cool enough.
Presently I still want to be taller, still not cool enough, and work in advertising. No, I don’t make commercials. No, I don’t make lies. Yes, I do work in the media services department where I do research, plan communication efforts, and coordinate the implementation of those plans. My friends don’t know what I do. Kind of like how the Friends don’t know what Chandler does; they just know he works in an office.
I like to know why people do what they do. I like to know why people do what they do, even if they don’t know why they do what they do, so that when I tell them why they do what they do it’s like telling their fortune. It’s the closest I can get to being psychic.
I ‘m more interested in knowing the answer to “why?”, than the answer to “what?”.
